Farmer’s Market Fare

It’s been longer than I’d like to admit since I’ve been to a Farmer’s Market.

This morning I picked up some goodies from the one here in town, and stopped into my usual grocer’s market for some other little essentials to tide me over before I go on vacation next Wednesday.

Farmer’s Market:

  • 10 Oranges— I live in a town that is known for its oranges, so local is always best.
  • An Avocado— Again, something my town is known for.
  • A zucchini
  • 3 Bell Pepper— Red, Green & Yellow
  • Red Onion
  • Celery
  • Carrots
  • Milti-grain Whole Wheat Rustic Sourdough Loaf— This I’m really stoked about. It was the first thing I smelled when I walked up. I tried their “Lemon Rosemary” loaf, and it was like heaven. I had to get one. However, for my purposes I went with a generic flavor I could pair with essentially anything. This is the website of the people that make it: therusticloaf.com

Grocer’s:

  • 18 Eggs
  • String (Mozzarella) cheese
  • Bananas
  • Spinach— Yes, bagged. I tried— I really did— to do the “get a bunch and clean the grit out yourself” thing multiple times, but it frustrates the hell out of me, and I never get it all. So, bagged it is. I battled spinach, and spinach won.

This, and what I still had at home should tide me over until I leave.
